ABOUT HARRISON ART & DESIGN
Quality Art at an Accessible Price
As long as I could put pencil to paper consciously I had an interest in creating. Growing up it was an escape from the boring and monotonous elementary school days. Escapism at its most purist form. As I grew up, it became more and more a part of my personality than it was a hobby. It was a way for me to connect with my fellow classmates and establish new friendships joined by mutual interests. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the United States Navy and in this I found a steady market of people who wanted to commission me for various things. Tattoo designs, gifts for their family and the random assignment from work helped guide me into the commission style of creating art. After 4 years of my colleagues asking me the question "Why in the world are you in the Navy when you can draw like that?" I decided to move back to my home state and enrolled in the local university for Art Education. Still hammering out commissions and class projects as I continued for a few semesters before deciding to move on and pursue art on my own terms and not via the lens of a educator. I have been creating things as far as I can remember but really focusing on honing my skills as an artist within the last 10 years specifically. I have dabbled in every type of art there is and enjoyed doing so. The only prevention from me making half of the things I want is that I do not have a massive University style studio to do all of the things in. My hope is that my passion continues to light the way for me to continue learning and creating things that people love.
